Minutes of the 36th Meeting
The 36th monthly meeting of the Senior Citizen Welfare Association was held on the date and at the time and venue mentioned above. The proceedings were as follows:
1. Welcome Address: The meeting commenced with a warm welcome address by the General Secretary, Mr. V. Narasimha Rao Garu, to all the esteemed members present.
2. Welcoming New Members: The members extended a hearty welcome with a round of applause to the new members of the Association: Mr. V. P. Raju Garu, Mr. K. Vijayanand Garu, and Mr. P. L. Srinivas Garu. Following the welcome, Mr. K. Vijayanand Garu and Mr. P. L. Srinivas Garu introduced themselves to the gathering.
3. Birthday Felicitations: In keeping with our tradition of celebrating birthdays, the following members whose birthdays fall in the month of August were felicitated with shawls by the Association:

• Mr. B. Buchaiah Garu (20/08/1943)
• Mr. K. Vijayanand Garu (02/08/1954)
Birthday wishes were also extended, with applause, to the following members who were unable to attend the meeting:

• Mr. C. H. Hemasundar Garu (23/08/1957)
• Mr. K. Sampath Kumar Garu (12/08/1946)
• Mr. D. Subbaraju Garu (15/08/1964)

• Mr. B. Srinivas Rao Garu (01/08/1965)
4. Anniversary of the Association Building: The members expressed their immense joy and applauded when it was announced that the Association building would complete its first year since inauguration on the upcoming 12th of August.
5. 79th Independence Day Celebrations: It has been resolved that the 79th Independence Day will be celebrated on August 15, 2025, with a flag-hoisting ceremony at 8:30 AM. A budget not exceeding ₹3,000.00 has been approved for the event. Members are encouraged to conclude the Association's program by 9:00 AM to be able to participate in the flag-hoisting ceremony at the colony's Green Park.
6. Chit Fund Draw: A draw was conducted for the 4th chit of the third series of the Association's chit fund. Dr. S. Manohar Rao was declared as the fortunate winner.
7. Financial Report: The Finance Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. V. Venu Mohana Rao, presented a report on the Association's finances. He stated that after covering all expenses, the annual maintenance charges collected to date have been fully utilized. The remaining balance consists solely of the Corpus Fund. It was noted that if the entire Corpus Fund were to be placed in a fixed deposit, the Association would have no liquid funds for operational expenses.
8. Discussion on the Corpus Fund: Several members spoke on the importance of the Corpus Fund, urging everyone to contribute generously to strengthen the Association. After considering all opinions, the President clarified that contributions to the Corpus Fund are voluntary and not mandatory. However, he earnestly requested all members to come forward and contribute according to their capacity. He also appealed to all members who joined after the completion of the building to contribute a minimum of ₹3,800 to support the development of the Association.
9. Presidential Address: In his address, the President touched upon the following points, which were based on discussions and feedback received from some members, both directly and indirectly:
• He emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of all members present to maintain the decorum of the meeting.
• He advised members to refrain from using harsh, sarcastic, or overly jocular language that could hurt the sentiments of others.
• He encouraged a culture of mutual respect among all members.
• He noted that these are matters that should not need to be reiterated to senior members who are over 70 years of age.
• He advised the members not just to throw stones from the shore but to build a beautiful structure using the same stones. Urging the members to move beyond mere questioning and criticism, he called for constructive suggestions to help the Association to flourish.
10. Felicitation of a Distinguished Guest: The members of the Association warmly welcomed and felicitated the former President of the colony, Mr. Narasimha Reddy Garu. The General Secretary, Mr. V. Narasimha Rao Garu; the President, Mr. Jayanth Kumar Garu; and executive members Mr. Ch. Lakshman Goud Garu and Mr. Ireni Yadagiri Goud Garu spoke about his commendable services to the colony. In his closing remarks, Mr. Narasimha Reddy Garu expressed his gratitude and assured the members of the Senior Citizen Association that, he would always be available to provide any assistance within his capacity.
11. Vote of Thanks: The General Secretary, Mr. V. Narasimha Rao Garu, expressed his sincere gratitude to all the members for their presence. He conveyed the collective happiness of the Association in finally being able to host Mr. Narasimha Reddy Garu, an occasion they had long awaited. With a final word of thanks to the honoured guest for his valuable time, the meeting was formally concluded.
